About Us

Following the untimely death of her father in 1987, Cheryl Alston was inspired to create a company to help families deal with the many issues involved in the dynamics of aging. Today, Family Management Services is a successful company serving the DC metropolitan area, with offices in Fairfax, VA and Bethesda, MD.

Our 22 years of experience in helping families encompasses services to elder adults, disabled non-seniors with physical or mental health disabilities and to caregivers of loved ones. We are also a licensed home health care agency. We help families cope with the challenges of caring for an elder parent and offer professional services and guidance – relocating to a retirement community, planning for increasing health care needs, obtaining benefits for long term care, maintaining a senior in the home and interpreting medical diagnosis and medications.

We are strong advocates for seniors and the disabled. We actively negotiate placement of a senior in nursing homes, assisted living and independent facilities. When needed, we become the guardian, conservator or medical power of attorney for a senior or disabled adult. We provide family counseling to resolve disputes. Hospitals, attorneys, trust officers and satisfied families all refer clients to us knowing that we will genuinely help the family.
